Aerospace

Where isostatic pressing and sheet metal forming are ensuring safe flights with minimized environmental impact.

A comprehensive range of solutions

Hot Isostatic Pressing and Sheet Metal Forming are vital processes for the aerospace industry. Quintus Technologies capabilities are fully employed in making sure that critical components in turbine engines, airframes, rockets and satellites, can be manufactured to ensure maximum strength and reliability for required safety standards, whilst at the same time reducing weight for maximum agility and fuel efficiency.

Quintus High Pressure Technologies are the go-to solution

Sheet metal forming and hot isostatic pressing equipment from Quintus Technologies have been solving production challenges and improving safety for the aerospace industry for over half a century. We help to develop your processes and improve productivity.

Trusted technology

Quintus Technologies has designed, built and installed more than 200 Flexform™ fluid cell presses for major manufacturers worldwide.

Improve your part quality and productivity

The high pressure Flexform™ technology is ideal for airframe structural components and high-quality engine components, ranging from small shallow parts (typically double curved) to large deep parts. The gentle forming method is perfectly suited for a majority of metals, including aluminum alloys, stainless steel, as well as for tough and heat resistant alloys such as inconel and titanium.

Designing the future

HPHT™ is a key enabler for the use of additive manufacturing in the aerospace sector, giving repeatable and improved mechanical properties for critical components.

Enabling electrification

Whilst High Pressure Heat Treatment helps to increase component reliability, Quintus battery presses are set to change the power density of future battery solutions, enabling commercial electrified flight.

Material Densification
Isostatic Pressing is a proven technology for consolidation of powder and densification of solid materials. Metals, ceramics, composites and plastics all benefit from the use of isostatic pressing to densify and remove porosities and voids.

Large HIP Systems

Material Densification
Quintus is able to produce large HIP equipment with URC® cooling, reducing cycle times and increasing productivity.

Flexform™ Fluid Cell Presses

Sheet Metal Forming
Many companies, particularly in the aerospace market, use Flexform™ to form the majority of their sheet metal production parts. Fluid cell forming is perfectly suited to the relatively low-volume requirements of commercial, military and business aircraft.

Hot Isostatic Presses

Material Densification
Quintus is the recognised leader in the design and manufacture of hot isostatic presses. Contact us to find out more about how HIP can change your business.

Warm Isostatic Presses

Material Densification
Quintus designs, produces and delivers warm isostatic pressing equipment from small monolithic systems to extremely large wire-wound machinery.

Flexform™ Deep Draw Presses

Sheet Metal Forming
Since the commercial introduction of the first Quintus-designed deep-draw press in the mid-sixties, Quintus Technologies has grown to become the world’s leading producer of high-pressure deep draw Flexform™ presses for sheet metal hydroforming applications.

Cold Isostatic Presses

Material Densification
Quintus designs, produces and delivers cold isostatic pressing equipment from small monolithic systems to extremely large wire-wound machinery

Isostatic Laminators

Material Densification
Quintus’s experience and engineering skill has also made it the undisputed leader in the growing world of isostatic lamination. Many customers have already come back to Quintus for their second or third laminators.

Flexform™ High Pressure Warm Forming

Sheet Metal Forming
The Flexform™ High Pressure Warm Forming process is a new technology that can replace or complement existing Titanium forming methods, such as hot-forming, hot stamping, super plastic forming, SPF, and hot gas forming.

High Pressure Heat Treatment

Material Densification
In recent years Quintus has harnessed the energy generated in the HIP to perform in-process heat treatment of components. We call it High Pressure Heat Treatment.
